Corona situation update

Updated 26.01.2021
Campus Vestfold and Drammen are completely closed! Check your campus library's opening hours, there may be special regulations for admission. Services like mentoring and teaching will mainly be online.
Bookings, loans and return of books
You can request books using Oria. Some libraries are closed for interlibrary loans so availability of some items may be limited.
-
Except for the Vestfold and Drammen campuses, books can be picked up and delivered at the libraries. Contact your campus library if you do not want to enter the campus to pick up / deliver books. Students belonging to Vestfold or Drammen are urged not to go to other USN campuses to pick up or deliver: Books on the pick-up shelf where the deadline expires before we reopen, will remain until 5 February. Items you are returning may be kept this week, but you are encouraged to deliver them as soon as it reopens. Books may also be delivered to a local public library.
-
We have resumed loan reminders and claims. Borrowed items can be returned in the return box or at the self-service machines. If you can't visit your campus, you may also return loans at one of our other campus libraries. The nearest public library will usually also assist in forwarding books you have borrowed from us.
-
Books for pick-up are placed on the pick-up shelf. If you need to pick up books, bring your loan card and use the self-service machine to register the loan. There will be Antibac available at the self-service machines - use it!
-
You need to be healthy and not have any respiratory symptoms. You must comply with FHI's recommended infection control rules regarding hand hygiene, coughing and contact with others. You must keep at least 1 meter distance to others in the library.
-
The libraries are staffed between 0900 and 1500 Monday-Friday. The Vestfold library are staffed between 0900 and 1900 Monday-Thursday, and 0900-1700 on Fridays. The library at Rauland campus is serviced between 1000 - 1400 Monday-Friday.
-
Our other services, including mentoring and teaching, will continue to be mainly online.
Use of library workplaces and group rooms
-
Workplaces and group rooms in the library can now be used. For infection protection reasons, there will be fewer seats than usual. The following rules apply in addition to FHI's infection control rules:
-
Use only available spaces, respect the signs of areas not in use!
-
Use hand disinfection available in the room!
-
Bring your own PC if you want to work! Some data labs and shared computers in the library will be unavailable.
